All of our kava comes from hand selected suppliers in remote South Pacific island nations like Vanuatu, Fiji, Hawaii, Solomon Islands, Tonga, and Papua New Guinea.   All of our suppliers are registered with the FDA.

 

Our Kava is organically grown by small farmers without the use of chemicals. However, due to the remoteness, Hawaii is the only location that has access to USDA inspections and can be labeled as official USDA organic certifications right now.

The most important part of our business is safety.  With kava being new to the US market there is no formal regulation yet.  The majority of kava is supplied by people who only care about making a quick buck.  Some suppliers actually work from their garage either on the islands or here in USA.

 

That is why we require all of our suppliers to provide a Certificate of Analysis specific to each batch!

 

These lab reports test all materials for microbiological, heavy metals, pesticides, and contaminants like e. coli and salmonella, ensuring you get only the best and safest brews at Lacuna Kava Bar.

SUSTAINABILITY

All of our Kava cultivars use sustainably grown and harvested rather than using chemical fertilizers or pesticides.  Most Kava farms are very small, ranging from a few hundred plants to a few thousand, and are made by clearing the small trees of the forest.

 

The big trees that support the soil are left alone and used for the shade needed by the Kava plant.  After completing two crop cycles, the farm is rotated out of use, allowing the native vegetation to grow back. 

At Lacuna Kava Bar we use only organic, recycled, compostable, and sustainable products to preserve our planet!

Every batch of kava we receive is rigorously tested by third party independent labs for USP food standard quality, chemotype, kavalactone profile, and flavokavains.  By closely supervising the products and using these reports to customize our brews, we are able ensure you have the best experience possible.  

 

Unlike many kava bars who purchase the most lowest cost ingredients, Lacuna Kava Bar actually uses the most expensive suppliers.  You get what you pay for, and we don't cut corners with your kava!
